4.0-litre 261 HP V6 Engine

4.0-litre 261 HP V6 Engine
Frontier is one of the most powerful mid-size trucks on the road. The 24-valve 4.0-litre V6 cranks out a muscular 261 HP1 and 281 lb-ft of torque. Step on the gas and you’ll instantly feel the rush. It’s all possible with the help of a lightweight aluminum engine block, an advanced valve timing system, a variable intake, and race-bred friction-reducing technology. This powerful V6 is available with a slick-shifting 6-speed manual.2

2.5-litre 152 HP 4-Cylinder Engine

2.5-litre 152 HP 4-Cylinder Engine
Frontier also offers a 2.5-litre 4-cylinder that pumps out 152 HP1, 171 lb-ft of torque, and features a compact balancer system to deliver the smoothness of a V6. You can harness the 4-cylinder’s power through a 5-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automatic transmission.

Towing

Towing
90% of your torque at 1500 RPM means towing power at your command, quickly. Equip your Frontier with a Class III/IV tow hitch accessory and you get a maximum towing capacity of 6500 lb (2949 kg)*.  Serious pulling power for your serious plans.

*SE KC 4x2 only. Trailer brakes recommended for towing over 1000 lb (454 kg). Weight-distribution hitch should be used for towing over 2000 lb (907 kg).

Rear Suspension

Rear Suspension
Frontier can take on almost any boulder-paved road, because all underbody components are tucked up above the frame level to help protect them from damage. This includes a rear suspension designed with the leaf springs over – instead of under – the rear axle. The end result is up to an incredible 257 mm (10.1") minimum running ground clearance*, with up to 32.6° angle of approach and up to 23.3° angle of departure.

*SE KC 4x2 only

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
Stay on your steered path with the help of Frontier’s available Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)*. If your vehicle begins to oversteer (fishtail) or understeer (plow forward), this advanced system can reduce engine output and/or apply appropriate brake pressure to specific wheels to help maintain control.

*Standard on NISMO CC and LE CC; available on NISMO KC. VDC is designed to help improve driving stability, but does not prevent accidents due to abrupt steering or by carelessness or dangerous driving techniques, or any other reason. Always drive safely.

Electronic Locking Rear Differential

Electronic Locking Rear Differential
Blaze through uneven terrain without getting stuck. When 4x4 mode just isn’t enough, flip the switch on NISMO Frontier models to activate the electronic locking rear differential. This ultimate off-road feature delivers equal power to both rear wheels to boost traction and help keep your truck moving forward. When engaged, it actually works in conjunction with the 4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS)*. So while the electronic locking rear differential keeps the rear wheels powered to move you ahead, ABLS gives you the traction you need up front to maintain steering control.

4-Wheel Limited Slip (ABLS)

4-Wheel Limited Slip (ABLS)
In most situations, a spinning wheel is a bad thing. That’s why Frontier 4x4s offer 4-wheel Limited Slip (ABLS). The system senses a spinning drive wheel(s), then automatically applies the brakes to the spinning wheel(s) and directs power to the wheel(s) with the best traction. (4x2 models offer 2-wheel Limited Slip.)

NISMO Traction Package

NISMO Traction Package
To create the ultimate off-road Frontier, NISMO models add NISMO-spec Bilstein® off-road performance shocks, an on-demand electronic locking rear differential, 265/75R16 BFGoodrich® Rugged Trail T/A® tires on unique 6-spoke 16" alloy wheels, protective steel skid plates and some very advanced technology.

Hill Start Assist (HSA)

Hill Start Assist (HSA)
When starting on steep hills from a stop, Hill Start Assist will help keep you from rolling backwards. It holds brake pressure for a few seconds, allowing you enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator (NISMO CC, LE CC, and NISMO KC with automatic transmission only).

Hill Descent Control (HDC)

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)
When driving down a steep grade in 4WD and engine braking isn’t enough, Hill Descent Control can help. Just flip the switch, ease your foot from the accelerator, and this system automatically maintains speed and brake pressure to help provide a controlled descent (NISMO CC, LE CC, and NISMO KC with automatic transmission only).
