Dual-stage Supplemental Front Airbags
Frontier features the Nissan Advanced Airbag System (AABS) that includes dual-stage supplemental front airbags* with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. The inflation rate of these dual-stage airbags adjusts depending on crash severity and seat belt usage. If the front passenger seat is empty, a sensor will deactivate the airbag.
*Please keep in mind that airbags are a supplemental restraint system and must always be used in conjunction with a seat belt. Even with the occupant-classification sensor, a rear-facing child restraints should not be placed in the front passenger’s seat. Also, in addition to any other requirement of applicable law, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. And please see your King Cab owner’s manual for specific information about the safest way to secure a child restraint in a Frontier King Cab. Inflated airbags shown for illustration purposes only. Roof-mounted Curtain Supplemental Airbags
Frontier’s advanced safety technology includes roof-mounted curtain supplemental airbags* for side impact and rollover protection, along with a Rollover Sensor system. When it detects an impending rollover, the system deploys the roof-mounted curtain supplemental airbags. These airbags remain inflated long enough to help provide protection in the event of multiple rolls.

Side-impact Supplemental Airbags
Frontier offers available driver and front passenger side-impact supplemental airbags*. They are built into the front seats (not the door), so they’re still in the right place, even if you change your seat position.

Structure
A Body Built for Protection. Up front, crumple zones help protect you by absorbing crash energy in a frontal impact. Hood buckling creases reduce the chance that the hood could intrude into the passenger cabin. And to help in a side impact, pipe-style steel guard beams are welded into every door.
